Mobile users can't use your product properly
If 40%+ of your traffic is mobile but your product isn't mobile-friendly, you're losing half your potential users.
When to use
Your analytics show significant mobile traffic but poor mobile conversion.
Hypothesis template
If we optimize fill in: core flow for mobile, mobile activation will increase by fill in: target% because mobile users can finally complete the key action.
Method
The problem: Your analytics show 40% mobile traffic but your product only works well on desktop. Mobile users bounce immediately.
How to do it:
- Check your analytics: what % of traffic and signups are mobile?
- Test your core flow on a phone — can you complete the main action?
- Fix the 3 biggest mobile blockers (usually: form inputs, navigation, button sizes)
- Prioritize the signup → first action flow for mobile
- You don't need a mobile app — responsive web works for most products
- Track: mobile activation rate before vs after
Key insight: You don't need to make everything mobile-perfect. Just make sure signup → first value works on a phone. That's where you're losing people.
