Ask Your Network for 10 Warm Intros

Send 10 specific warm-intro requests to people who can reach your ICP. Specific beats generic 10-to-1. Goal: 5 first meetings from your existing network in 2 weeks.

When to use

You have a network of 100+ relevant people (LinkedIn, past colleagues, investors). Earliest stage — when warm intros convert 10x better than cold.

Hypothesis template

If we send 10 specific intro requests (named target + reason + forwardable blurb) to network connections, we'll land at least 5 first meetings with ICP-fit prospects.

Method

The problem: "Let me know if I can help" never converts. You post on LinkedIn that you're looking for customers and get nothing. Your network can help, but you're asking wrong.

What works: Specific, low-effort, forwardable. Name the target. State why. Hand them the message they can paste.

How to do it:

  1. List 50 people in your network (advisors, ex-colleagues, investors, founders you know).
  2. For each, find 1–3 specific people they know who fit your ICP (LinkedIn + 2nd-degree search).
  3. Pick 10 best matches. For each, send:

"Hey [name] — quick ask. I'm looking to talk to [specific persona] about [problem]. I noticed you're connected to [target name] at [company]. Would you be open to forwarding a quick note? I've drafted it below so you can copy-paste:

[2-sentence forwardable blurb: who you are, what you're building, why you want to talk to them, ask for 20 min]"

  4. Track: sent → forwarded → replied → meeting booked.

Output: A pattern of who in your network actually connects (some will, most won't). Double down on the ones who do — go back with the next 10 asks.

Success metrics

  • •Intro requests sent
  • •Intros forwarded
  • •Meetings booked
  • •Meeting-to-qualified rate

Prerequisites

  • LinkedIn / network of 100+ people
  • Sharp ICP
  • A forwardable 2-sentence blurb

Common pitfalls

  • •"Let me know if you know anyone" — too vague to act on
  • •Asking the same person for 5 intros at once
  • •No forwardable blurb — they have to do the work
  • •Forgetting to follow up with the connector after the meeting
