Your landing page has one message for everyone
Send each ad audience to a page that speaks their language. Generic pages convert at 2%. Specific pages convert at 8%.
When to use
You run paid ads to multiple audiences or have multiple distinct user segments.
Hypothesis template
If we create landing pages tailored to [audience segment] from [ad source], conversion will increase by [target]% because the message matches their intent.
Method
The problem: You run ads targeting designers AND developers, but both land on the same generic page.
How to do it:
- For each ad audience, create a matching landing page with their language, examples, and pain points
- Mirror the ad headline on the landing page (message match)
- Use testimonials from their peer group
- Show screenshots relevant to their use case
- A/B test: generic page vs audience-specific page
- Track conversion rate per audience-page combination
Key insight: Message match between ad and landing page is the single highest-impact conversion factor. If the ad says "for designers" and the page says "for teams," you lose them.
