Your product creates outputs nobody knows came from you
Every form, page, video, or output your users create should carry a subtle badge linking back to you.
When to use
Your product creates user-facing outputs (forms, pages, videos, reports, invoices, links).
Hypothesis template
If we add a "Made with [product]" badge to [user outputs], we'll get [target] click-throughs/month because every output becomes an organic ad.
Method
The problem: Users create things with your product (forms, surveys, pages, videos, reports) but recipients don't know what tool made it.
What Typeform did: Every free form has a small "Made with Typeform" badge at the bottom. People who fill out the form see it, click it, and sign up to make their own.
The result: The badge is responsible for a massive portion of Typeform's organic growth. Each form submitted is an organic impression. With millions of form submissions daily, that's enormous reach.
How to do it:
- Identify every output your users create that others see
- Add a small, non-intrusive "Made with [product]" badge with a link
- Make it removable on paid plans (this incentivizes upgrades too)
- Track: badge impressions, click-through rate, signups from badge
- A/B test badge placement and wording
- Keep it tasteful — it should enhance, not detract
Key insight: The badge works because it appears in context. Someone filling out a beautiful form thinks "I want to make one too." That's a qualified lead.
