Your product creates data or content that lives inside a silo
Create an embeddable widget from your product output. Every embed is a permanent ad on someone else's website.
When to use
Your product creates output (charts, badges, stats, content) that users would want to display externally.
Hypothesis template
If we create an embeddable [widget/badge/chart] that users put on their sites, we'll get [target] impressions/month because each embed is a permanent organic ad.
Method
The problem: Your product generates valuable data, charts, or content — but it only lives inside your app. Nobody outside sees it.
What YouTube did: The embed player. Every embedded video is a mini YouTube on someone else's website, complete with the YouTube brand and a "Watch on YouTube" link.
The result: Embed widgets create exponential distribution. Each user who embeds your widget brings you visibility to THEIR audience permanently.
How to do it:
- Identify what output users would want to show on their site (charts, badges, stats, results)
- Build a simple embed code: iframe or JavaScript snippet
- Include subtle branding: "Powered by [your product]" with a link
- Make the embed customizable (colors, size) to match their site
- Provide a one-click copy button for the embed code
- Track: active embeds, impressions, click-throughs to your site
Key insight: Every embed is permanent. Unlike social posts that disappear, an embedded widget on someone's blog stays there for years, driving impressions and clicks indefinitely.
