You have happy customers but no social proof content
Interview your best customers, write their story, and give them something to share. They promote it because it makes them look good.
When to use
You have customers with measurable results who'd be willing to be featured.
Hypothesis template
If we publish [X] customer stories showing [results], each story will drive [target] visits and referrals because customers share content that features them.
Method
The problem: You have customers getting great results but no way to leverage their success. Testimonials feel generic.
What works: Write detailed customer stories — not testimonials. Show the before, the problem, the solution, and the results with real numbers. The customer shares it because it makes them (and their company) look good.
The result: Customer stories serve triple duty: social proof for prospects, SEO content for organic traffic, and shareable content the customer promotes to their network.
How to do it:
- Identify 3-5 customers with impressive results
- Interview them for 20 minutes: what was the problem, what did they try, what worked
- Write a story with real numbers and quotes
- Send them the draft for approval (they always say yes and share it)
- Publish on your blog, share on social, link from relevant product pages
- Give the customer a shareable graphic with their key stat
Key insight: The customer shares the story because it makes THEM look good, not because it helps you. That's why it works.
